Thanks to the help and advice I received I am now able to make videos
from my camcorder. What I would like to do now is to make some short
videos available to members of my family, which is wide spread. I have a
website and thought this might be the way to go. However, I realise that
even a short video could take up 50MB or more.

So, I would appreciate any pointers that you are able to give me on how
to go about compressing the videos further than they are already and the
best place to find some guidance on making the videos accessible to
others. I have googled fairly extensively and am more confused than
ever.
