New USB drive formatting

When it complains about the partitin table i would start from scratch and
make a new one with fdisk or cfdisk.
(You would like to use this drive to store your data (maybe backups), right?)

Generally spoken your approach is right. But it seems this drive allready
came with an broken partition table.
