Change everything that references the us archive:

us.archive.ubuntu.com

to

uk.archive.ubuntu.com

archive.ubuntu.com and us.archive.ubuntu.com in particular has constant
problems resolving. Yesterday and today I was unable to get it to
resolve at all. Changing to the uk mirror fixed it for me.
