I just installed spamassassin (- fully updated Feisty from a fresh
install) and I get the following:

$sudo /etc/init.d/spamassassin restart
Restarting SpamAssassin Mail Filter Deamon: spamd

So I'm not sure if you've found a bug or if perhaps your previous SA
files from the upgrade corrupted the reinstall. Can you repeat the error?
