That kind of problem is a real pain - I haven't heard of it happening on
a stable release before. Here's what you can do to help us help you.

If you can get a copy of /var/log/dmesg and send it to the list !!as an
attachment!! (it's long) that will hopefully tell us what happening
during the boot process.
