I have a new IBM X3650 quad core server with dual Intel Xeon X5355
processors at 2.66 ghz. This means both the top command and /proc/cpuinfo
report 8 CPUs.

On this box I installed Ubuntu from the CD image
unbuntu-6.06.1-server-amd64.iso, which is also for IBM machines. The
install went fine, and the top command recognizes all 8 processors. But
LogWatch reports:

WARNING: Kernel Errors Present
   [ 128.709962] APIC error on CPU1: 00(40) ...: 1 Time(s)
   [ 128.801734] APIC error on CPU2: 00(40) ...: 1 Time(s)
   [ 128.893503] APIC error on CPU3: 00(40) ...: 1 Time(s)
   [ 128.985295] APIC error on CPU4: 00(40) ...: 1 Time(s)
   [ 129.077065] APIC error on CPU5: 00(40) ...: 1 Time(s)
   [ 129.168844] APIC error on CPU6: 00(40) ...: 1 Time(s)
   [ 129.260614] APIC error on CPU7: 00(40) ...: 1 Time(s)
   [ 133.487829] usb 1-1: device not accepting address 2, error -71 ...:
1 Time(s)

So my question is, did I use the wrong install CD? And if I did, what's
the correct version and is it possible to just update my install intead of
re-installing?
