About root or administrative account

I like sudo because it is a convenient way to execute a single command
as root, without the risk of leaving a root shell open by mistake.
However, I also set a root password (sudo passwd) and change
/etc/sudoers to require the root password when sudoing.  That way, my
user password isn't enough to gain root.

I do open a root shell occasionally, but not very often.
