Blank Screen with ATI Binary Driver

Hi all

I installed the ATI binary driver (as well as the ones that come with
Ubuntu) and after just a few minutes of working in Ubuntu, the screen goes
dark as if it's getting no signal from the video card.

Had anyone experienced this? I hate  being stuck with the mesa drivers :(
