Never used spamprobe, but as far as procmail goes I'd think it's more a
mater of getting procmail to play nice with a given mail client. The
client itself shouldn't really know about procamil, just that it gets
mail from "somewhere". Procmail just happens to leave it there. ;)

My personal favorite is Claws-Mail. Very "mature" client, does #MH by
default but has plugins for Maildir and Mbox. Good IMAP support,
seamless GnuPG support with an option to use gnupg-agent or it's own
internal pass phrase management, serviceable filtering with an optional
perl plugin that makes it even more serviceable, Vcalendar, S/MIME,
RSS, an "actions" capability to hook external programs/etc (I
occasionally have it read to me via festival), WinCE device support, a
couple HTML viewer options, PDF viewer, mail notifications,
inernationalization and multiple dictionary usage (on a per-folder
basis if memory serves, I don't use it that way), plugins for ClamAV
and Bogofilter, etc, etc, etc... :)

Very actively developed and maintained. There's an "unofficial" Ubuntu
repository, maintained by the author (he develops on an Ubuntu box I
believe), and sometimes problems are addressed and solved in minutes.
Literally. I think the record is 12. :)

Latest release version is 2.8.1 available here...

Instructions for the repositories are toward the bottom of the download
page, or you can build from source, snapshot, or CVS if you're into
that.
