Automatically Mounting a Network Folder

since smbfs s deprecated, try using cifs.
Also, since MacOS X is UNIX, get one of the freely available utilities that
enable NFS for the Mac. That way you can simply tell your Mac to share a
folder over NFS (the real UNIX way) and then on Ubuntu do:
mount <ip of macintosh>:<path to share on macintosh> /mnt
No need for any other options, but "man mount" is your friend. And so is
Google.
