Alan,
i wish i knew this 5hrs ago. iv just spend half a day reinstalling with LVM.
i made a 100mb ext3 /boot
& then the rest of my 250gig sata as a lmv...
but, i have about 9 lv's
/ => 40G
swap => 512M
/home => 8G
/music => 60G
/movies => 40G
/videos => 40G
/photos => 10G
/programming => 5G (im a IT student)
/emulation => 30G (i am going to install qemu + kqemu + windows XP, because
i might need to use Visual Studio)
i hope this works for me.
i still want to know how to use snap shots.... (i want to save them in the
/music partition since its the biggest)
& later i want to add a 120G ide to the group... but that will have a 30G
ntfs partition in case i ever need to use native windows.
so are there any good examples on doing snap shots... (i have messed up way
too many times doing things like beryl & other funny things)
thanks
