As Frank says - no developers of Ubuntu and almost no users of this list
will recommend Automatix. It has a history of doing bad things to your
computer.

So, consider yourself lucky that it didn't work! Now you know not to use
it at all!

If you tell us what you wanted Automatix to help you with, then we can
give you a better/ safer solution.
