Installer fails for software RAID

Sorry, bad form to followup to oneself, but this overview is 
confusing/wrong.

It's actually:

sda1: /boot, ext3, bootable, 1Gb
sdb1: /boot-backup, ext3, 1Gb
sda2: /srv/backup, ext3, 20Gb
sda2: /srv/backup2, ext3, 20Gb
sd[ab]3: swap, 5Gb
sd[ab]4: physical RAID, 134Gb
md0: RAID-0 from sd[ab]4, root (/), ext3

Also, I've reviewed lots of bugs related to RAID in the bug tracker, but 
none appear to be what I'm experiencing or have any workarounds.  I 
suppose I'm looking at a manual setup of RAID-0 after install onto a 
spare partition.
