I don't know the by-laws or policies that well, but with each
release 6mo apart, and an LTS spanning 3y, I'd say there's 9 versions
between'em, and we're up to about 3. Does that sound right?
I'm excited about the features; it's real, fundamental changes that
AT&T never envisioned....but they ran Unix into the ground in only 10y,
so they never got the chance. Unix as an idea is superb; the culture has
always been a good one, and when it's driven by folks without a business
interest, it's headed into the right direction. (Unlike Redhat, RIP.)
