I received the same upgrades, and I didn't have any problem with
Evolution, even though I recently switched my email client to SeaMonkey.
I'm running Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft, and GNOME desktop version 2.16.1 I
haven't done very much in the way of changing anything (yet) with the
kernel or any other function of Ubuntu or GNOME. Could it be (even
thought there is an acknowledgment there's a problem with the recent
security updates(s) for Firefox), there was something you added or
changed yourself that might have caused Evolution to crash, before the
update that now there's a new plugin downloaded and installed with Firefox?
