how to hide dot-files in Open/Save/Save As windows?

Hello,

I can't seem to find out on how to hide dot-files and dot-dirs in the windows 
that open when you want to Open, Save, or Save As, in common gnome apps.

I tried looking in nautilus preferences, but it's a no-go.
