My apologies... it's been a long day and that was an attempt at humour :-)

The issue of virus scanners has been hashed out on this list many times;
none of which seem to provide any definitive answers. My suggestion is
that you open the Synaptic Package Manager and search on 'antivirus' or
'virus'. There you will find primarily clamv and f-prot. Your best bet
is probably clamv... I use F-Protect on clients windows systems
(including servers) but when I tested on Ubutuntu I wasn't overly
impressed; they may have clean up the interface now, so it can't hurt to
give that a try as well.

I guess the real question is why you are looking to install a virus
scanner on your system. Do you have a dual boot system with Windows? Are
you transfering files back and forth with a Windows system via Samba
etc? Are you running an email server, etc? It would be helpful if you
gave folks here an idea what/why/where and which system you are running
(Dapper, Edgy, Feisty, Gutsy).
