webcam

i have been reading the archives and can not seem to find what i am 
looking for...and i would appreciate it very much is someone here could 
point me in the right direction...

i have an acer aspire 5610 running feisty...
under 2.6.20-15 my creative webcam live/live pro worked just fine...and 
i had sound in kopete...
i then upgraded to ...20-16 and installed a tvtuner,  hauppauge 
hvr-950...which i got working...
i then lost the webcam and sound in kopete!!
i am not sure if it was the upgrade to ...20-16 or installation of the 
tvtuner killed the webcam?? or maybe it is totally unrelated...when i go 
back to ...20-15 the webcam works...but kernel not compiled up for tvtuner..
i got source for gspcav1... and compiled with no errors...but i get 
error when : sudo modprobe gspca...-->FATAL: Error inserting gspca 
(/lib/modules/2.6.20-16-generic/kernel/drivers/usb/media/gspca.ko): 
Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
i then blacklisted the two modules needed em28xx and em2880-dvb needed 
to run the tvtuner...same results...and i am at a loss at this point...
if anyone can help...it would save whatever hair that i have left...
