Always "D" (display differences).

Then, if you know of a good reason why the old value is better than the new,
choose to keep the original, otherwise install the new one.

If anything breaks, there's always the old copy - under the original file
name with .dpkg-old appended.  If you kept the original, the new one is
*.dpkg-dist.
