Firefox to slow for me

I would recommend Epiphany, it's actually technically part of GNOME,
although Ubuntu chooses not to include it in the default install. It's
very lightweight and fast and has some decent features and it uses the
Gecko rendering engine (as does Firefox), which means you'll have
virtually the same success at viewing websites as you do with Firefox.
$ sudo apt-get install epiphany-browser epiphany-extensions
On the other hand, if you're used to using Firefox elsewhere (i.e. in
Windows) you might consider using Mozilla's own version for Linux[1].
Some claim that it supposedly runs faster than the Ubuntu version. I've
not tried it myself.

Another alternative is Switffox[2], which I was using myself for a
while. It did seem to run faster but I've not bothered with it lately.
I'm currently using the Ubuntu's Firefox.
I'm used to Firefox being slow, but that's because I like having 2345
extensions. :)
