Calendar and appontments without Evolution

Err, even better, you can leave server type as none.  All Evolution 
needs to be happy is for you to enter your e-mail address and specify an 
outgoing SMTP server (or choose sendmail).. Neither have to be valid if 
you don't know what to put in there, and won't hurt anything so long as 
you  don't actually try to send an e-mail from within Evolution.

for the record, I use both Evolution and Thunderbird simultaneously, 
(using Dovecot as glue for e-mail storage). and get they along just fine.
