Just addressing the bookmarks, one thing you can use is the Google
Browser Sync add-on. This can sync up more than just bookmarks and
I've found it very convenient when moving between machines and o/s's.
I tend to use online bookmarks though, a combination of google
bookmarks and yahoo bookmarks. I hate the tagging/folksonomy method
of organizing bookmarks so it's basically google bookmarks for things
I want to appear on my personalized google homepage, yahoo bookmarks
for everything else. Then all I need to do is make sure the google
and yahoo toolbars are loaded in whichever o/s I'm currently using.
