Newbie is unable to install Ubuntu 6.06 LTS from DVD

On Booting 6.06 LTS from DVD, have the  4 choices - Normal, Safe graphics,
OEM mode, Text mode.





For both Installs – Normal & Safe Graphics, receive : "PCI: Failed to
allocate Mem Resource #6..."



For both Installs – Text mode & OEM mode, receive : "No common CD-ROM drive
was detected...Didn't find a CD-ROM drive: Failed"





My system:



CPU – Intel Core 2

RAM – 2 GB

HDD – (2) 150 GB, 1st HDD has Windows XP PRO,  2nd HDD is unused.

DVD / CD-ROM drive



 Appreciate any help
