dvd::rip is quite complex an application.
It has lots of tabs and buttons.
I mean, try to explain more in detail what you did
or else I can't tell you if things are normal or not.

There are also other apps. For instance, acidrip is quite simple
to rip a DVD and DeVeDe could then be used to make
a DVD from a video file.
