a good and complete grep manual?

Hi all,

does anyone know a _good_ and _complete_ reference for grep (ie., 
something different then a random tutorial or the man page)?

I have the idea that grep isn't that elaborated as regexps in Perl, but 
to find out what grep actually does accept and what not is quite some 
hassle. For example, does it accept escape characters like \d (I guess 
not?).
