This might help to solve the problem:

1. Right click on the volumn control icon (upper-right corner of your
screen)
2. Select "Open volumn control" ->"Edit"->"Preference"
3. Tick below items: Master, Master Mono, PCM, Line-in, Line Capture, CD,
CD Capture, Mic, Mic Capture, Mic Boost (+20dB), Capture
4. Close that Preference windows as well as the volumn control windows.
5. Re-open the volumn control window.
6. There are three tabs there:
    Setup in "Switch" tab: tick the "Mic Boost (+20dB) only while leave
other unticked.
    Setup in "Capture" tab: set the volumn control bar to Max.
    Setup in "Replay" tab:   Master Mono->off; PCM->Max; Line-in->off;
CD->off; Mic->Max

Or you can try this:

Install gnome- alsa mixer from Synapatic and tick everything in it.

Hope this helpful.
