Thanks for the compliment :)
- For a CRT monitor, it doesn't require X to be restarted. We can plug-unplug
anytime, the display will be there.
- But for LCD projector, it does require to be plugged in before we login in
Gnome. I believe it depends on the projector type. Also one annoying note, if
I left the notebook long enough until the screensaver start and then the
screen goes to sleep, the projector cannot be waken up until I logoff and
logon into Gnome again (no need to restart X though).
- A little comparison to Suse's setting. The projector can always be waken up.
But, sometimes Suse sets the resolution wrong (lower). Too bad I didn't save
the Suse xorg.conf before I format my notebook. Also the projector has to
be "On" and plugged in before we start the notebook (in Suse we can see that
it tries to detect the hardware because both screens will be blinking longer
than usual).
