looks to me like it is a file containing the URL. wget normally expects
the URL as an option, not in a file containing a URL; to do that, use
the -i option to wget.

What do you mean "open X windows with samba"?

Don't understand that, looks like a windows permissions problem to me.

I hope that goes easier. One thing you could try would be completely
de-installing samba and reinstalling it. This is basically just to make
sure that the detritus from all your experiments is cleared out :-)
