creating a hdd image file from a native partition

I have a dual boot WinXP/ubuntu system.
I am getting tired of rebooting each time i want to switch environments.
is there a way to create a HDD image file of the WinXP partition?

i am hoping i can run the image file
under Xen or VMware on the ubuntu environment
