lxdoom

I installed lxdoom via the adept manager on my kubuntu 7.04 workstation.
When I run lxdoom from the menu, there is no response.
When I run it from the command line, I get this - 

LxDoom v1.4.4 (http://lxdoom.linuxgames.com/)
Z_Init : Allocated 6016Kb zone memory
IWAD not found

I read the README.Debian file, and it says that I would need to install
lxdoom-sndserv and lxmusserv for sounds and music (respectively), but
doesn't mention any other dependencies.

Does anyone have any clues on how to get this working?
