How do I get a printcap file?

Thank you Bruce and David for your replies.


I actually installed the printer under KDE but it appears in 
/etc/cups/cups.conf and in the http://localhost:631/printers.

Perhaps KDE doesn't install a printcap file.

Should I delete and reinstall the printer in cups
or attempt to hand write a file for a Deskjet 500?
