Mobo got hosed. Any recommendation?

I would suggest to take a look at system76.com to find a cheap and
ubuntu-compatible desk/laptop. Or dell.com/open would be another choice
if you like Dells. For Beryl, Nvidia card is the only way to go. ATI/AMD
sucks on AIGLX support.
