akella:  all you have to supply to install Ubuntu is *YOUR* username and 
password.  the root account is disabled by default and the password is 
randomly generated.  you then use "sudo" to run root level tasks and if 
you wish you can use "sudo su": to elevate to root more premanently.

you're thinking too much!  :)  just tell the installer what username and 
password you want to use when you login.  it's that simple.
