Added IDE card, drive numbering screwed up

Hi all,
I recently added an it821x card to my edgy box. Unfortunately, it has
really screwed up drive assignments (/dev/hda is now /dev/hde) and made
it a pain in the butt to get grub to boot before I realised what had
happened (thanks the rescue Live CD ;-) ). Is there any way I can set it
back up so that my mobo's primary IDE maps to /dev/hda and /dev/hdb
secondary to /dev/hdc and /dev/hdd and then the add-on card from there...

Plus, this is really screwing up my LVM as adding hard rives to the
system was the reason to add the extra IDE channels. Now whenever I call
pvcreate on the new drives (/dev/hda grrr) I get "Can't open /dev/hda
exclusively. Mounted filesystem?" when it isn't even partitioned...

Thanks,

GyroTech
