Feisty on USB 2.0 hdd

If you're using grub, then when the grub menu comes up you can enable 
messages, which may give you some tips:
1) hilite your feisty in the menu
2) hit "e" to enter edit mode
3) hilite the kernel line and hit "e" to enter edit mode
4) use the backspace or arrow keys to remove the words "quiet" and 
"splash" from the line, then hit "enter"
5) hit "b" to boot the revised commands
6) pay attention to what scrolls by .. write down the exact words of the 
errors and do a google search for those words for help.

You're doing something most people don't .. so you may know more that we 
do right now.  If you don't get an answer here, try googling for more / 
better help.
