You could try adding media connectivity plugin for firefox, configure
windows media codecs to open with VLC in the media player connectivity GUI.
Then when you see the media you should see a black box, click the black box
which will then open VLC and hopefully play your media. However it doesn't
always work as it depends how the video has been encoded or if it contains
DRM of any kind. In general though why do these sites use Windows Media
Player is a BIG question for me, its hardly transfferable across platforms.
Now I don't like proprietry but even using something like Real or Flash
enables everyone to view.

You may want to send them an email and tell them that you are dissapointed
that they are only enabling video if you are running Windows.

I was thinking the other day, is maybe what we need is a NAME AND SHAME page
which identifies, corporations that are ignorant to writing drivers and
websites that are platform specific. I believe BBC IPlayer is the next
violation with DRM techniques and once again only for Windows!
