When you get to the first grub screen (with the choices of which os to boot)
1) Select the OS you wish to boot by moving the cursor to it.
2) Press 'e' for edit.
3) you will be shown all of the lines in that particular grub entry.
4) Select the 'kernel' line by moving the cursor.
5) Again press 'e' for edit
6) You will be placed at the END of the kernel line where you will see 'quiet
splash'
7) Backspace to remove those items.
8) hit enter
9) press 'b' for boot
