SU - Root

To Whom it May Concern,

  I recently obtained a CD boot copy of Ubuntu 7.04
and I loaded it onto my x86 pentium computer
without difficulty.

  In the installation, I chose most of the default
choices, and I also chose a single username
and password.  However, nowhere in the installation
process was I ever prompted for any information
regarding 'root' user, or 'su'.

  I have been unable to log into either of these
accounts.

  Any advice?
