Saving RealMedia streams to file

Hi,

I'm familiar with the facility in mplayer that allows you to save a
RealMedia stream to an .rm file, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to
be a way of accelerating the download.

In Windows, Net Transport and Streambox VCR can be configured to save,
say, a RealAudio stream to file in a fraction of the time it actually
takes to listen to it.

Does anyone know of any Linux-native applications or plugins capable of
doing the same thing?

Regards,

Michael
