A long shot.  Have you tried pressing the button before activating sync?
and if that's what you normally do, doing it the other way round.  I've
found it seems to sometimes connects one way but not the other.  I've
got an edgy system on this box and if this doesn't help, let me know and
I'll send you my settings.
