I'd like to 2nd that plug for FireFTP.  Not only is it very good (and 
reasonably simple), but since it's a Firefox seamless plugin it's the 
same on *nix and Windows, which makes it ideal for those of us that 
have to operate in both places, or have customers that are a mix of 
*nix and Windows.
