Networking with windows

hi!

I've tried configure my ubuntu machine with an existing windows network 
so i shared a folder and ubuntu automatically installed samba. but when 
a windows machine tries to enter my ubuntu machine asks me for password 
and user name. i don't know what to use.for example my workgroup is 
teste, my ubuntu machine is ubuntu, user is xtreme and password is password.
