Very interesting and I feel somewhat of a twit now, after going through
everything that I could think of I setup DHCP and tested with 1 other
linux machine and 1 windows which worked fine, I put in another hard
drive and fired up the Ubuntu setup as I go through I was unable to get
an IP address even with functioning network card and cable so I reset
the Minitar gigabit switch and all came to life which doesn't make sense
since I tried different ports in the 'trial and error' mode.
I'll certainly put this down to a learning experience that's for sure :)
