No. But there is an interactive menu which will walk you through
configuration steps.  Read the top of xorg.conf first because it gives
instructions how to move the file elsewhere before running:

$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

You will be asked a few questions; for most of these you can accept the
default; there is a section covering screen resolution.
