FW X resolution too low

Hey, I'm having a similar problem with my FX5500 and a Samsung LCD TV.
Try running "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" and configuring it
there. Lots of times the config will pick up on the monitor's max
settings and give you more options. Also, when you run that
configuration you can choose specific resolutions to set the display
too. Just follow directions in there. You can try changing it by
hand in your xorg.conf file then restarting X, but I'd advise against
that. All that being said however, I still haven't gotten mine to
work. The reconfigure doesn't pick up my monitor settings through DVI
(to be clear, I've got it connected via DVI-HDMI) so I'm
unfortunately stuck at a much worse 640x480. Hope that helps, but any
other suggestions are probably more than warranted.
