If you want more, or it's not there, I usually go in this order

1) Wikipedia
2) Wiki links (from Wiki)
3) howtoforge.com
4) Google
5) This list!

this list is probably one of the best grass roots resources I've ever
seen, but going here instead of anywhere else first will give the
impression that your too dependent on others' efforts.  So looking
elsewhere first also gives you a chance to contribute to the list.
