No, they don't.  How many Ubuntu users don't use DHCP?  Even if you have a
static IP when wired, almost everyone uses DHCP on a wireless network.  

Even if you DO use static IPs, most of them can be configured with DHCP
(pre-assigned leases).  

I'd guess n-m works, for 95% of users, as well or better than the standard
network tools.  Sure, there are situations where it doesn't work for you,
and they're actively trying to improve those.
