Strange.  nm-applet was already installed, but it allowed me to install
network-manager-gnome as a _new_ application.

I hope I can get my wireless working here at home, since it seems to
work everywhere else.  The only difference between home and outside is
that at home I have a static IP, and everywhere else, it's dhcp...
