The first thing I did with a "modern" GUI was coral it into a curses
style box at the command prompt so it wasn't in my way, but I could
still sneer at the visible upper right quadrant of the thing. 

Now that I think about it, I've been doing nothing but that in one
metaphorical sense or another ever since. :)
