configuring another network

If I go into Network settings in Ubuntu or whatever it is called in Edgy 
under I believe it is maintenence but I am not exactly sure on my laptop 
can I add another connection for my BT Broadband account so I can disconnect 
my BT Voyager MODEM from my desktop and attach it to the laptop and choose 
that connection so I can access my BT Account without affecting the account 
I have set up for my wireless card which is used when I am at Vox Bar which 
is where I attend my Linux User Group until I can get my desktop working 
with Ubuntu which could be later this month depending on when the next 
Hudlug meeting is?
